Electric Dove

The eclectic, alternative artist, Electric Dove, hails from Cape Town, South Africa and has recently released a 5th recording, the album, 'Always Watching'.

Davs is the founder, composer, lyricist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer of Electric Dove. His musical journey was profoundly influenced at an early age by his late father, Ivan Mastanjević, who was a classically trained bassoonist. Ivan filled the family home with music when practising for his nightly symphony performances. As a small child, Davs would recall and sing passages note for note that he’d heard his father practice or perform in concert. Ivan, recognizing his son’s keen ear and early talent for music, bought him his first electronic instrument, a Casiotone keyboard which ultimately sparked a lifelong passion for creating music. This bond between father and son, musician and mentor, profoundly shaped Dav's musical path.

Davs produces his music independently, shaping each song personally before inviting a small and trusted collection of fellow artists to journey with him to completion of his intricate vision.

Drawing influences from a slew of genres and artists, Davs believes that creativity - in the form of songwriting - springs from a “universal well” which is then shaped by each individual artist’s unique life experiences.

Davs says, “For me, it’s not about fitting into a mould or seeking fame—it’s rather about expressing something deeply personal and ultimately inspiring. My music is an invitation to listen, to connect, and to feel the intimacy of the shared journey between my vision and the listener's interpretation thereof."

Davs founded Electric Dove in 2013. Since then four EP's have been released with a full-length album following in late 2024. The style of music is almost impossible to categorize into a specific genre, as the songs are a blend of epic cinematic soundscapes blended with tight electro-funk-rock grooves which create a uniquely 'alternative' alternative sound; often emanating within a single track.
